The starting point of the tour is our station in Macapà. The bus leaves at 9 a.m. After 40 minutes we reach the port of Tatus on Parnaiba- Delta. Here the boat is loaded with kite equipment, water and beer * and off you go towards the sea. In the morning we will take the boat through the world’s second largest, open Delta in the world to gain a unique insight into the beautiful ecosystem of the delta and its wildlife. It is not uncommon to see small monkeys, birds, sea eagles and iguanas in the lagoon. Mangroves and white sand dunes line the banks. We continue to the kite spot, the way to this breathtaking spot alone is worth the little trip.
At the end of the journey you are at the place where the river delta flows into the open sea, “Ilha dos Poldos”. A huge area with shallow water now lies in front of us. The boundary to the sea, a kilometer long sandbar, offers enough space for our camp. On the other hand, clean, beautiful waves roll on the sandbar.
For those who have mastered kiting well and have already done a downwinder, there is the possibility of kiting from there 25 km to the north-lying Delta river mouth. The rest of the group can let off steam on site on the water. The downwind group will then be picked up by boat. In the early evening you watch the orange guara birds which fly by the hundreds into the mangroves at sunset to spend the night there. This breathtaking sight will be an unforgettable, dreamlike experience!
Now it’s off to dinner in the pousada. After a welcome caipi there is freshly fished red snapper with plenty of side dishes (included in the price).
A long and exciting day is drawing to a close and you will surely fall into your beds dog-tired. In the morning you start with a kite session after a hearty breakfast. In the afternoon we will have a small snack as needed and then bring you back to Macapa.
